My Little Snowman

I made a little snowman,
As perfect as could be.
I thought I’d keep it as a pet,
and let it sleep with me.

I made it some pajamas,
and a pillow for it’s head
then last night it ran away,

Guard Dog on Duty

The following story was told to me by one of my friends in a Facebook Group. I thought you guys would like to read about a REAL Guard Dog. Thanks for sharing it Ann, I always enjoy your literary style!

My Audrey is a wonderful guard dog.

This morning I saw her sniffing the air… then her ears perked up. She can smell and hear thieves a mile away.

As they came closer, she began nudging my elbow… closer still, she grabbed the sleeve of my shirt and tugged. When I didn’t seem to understand that this was an emergency, she began barking… “Thieves are coming! Thieves are coming! THIEVES!!!!”

I could hear nothing, and it is still dark, so I could see nothing.

She persisted, barking louder and more fiercely as yellow lights came down the road.

Finally, I could see them. They stopped right in front of our house, causing Audrey to go WILD, spinning in circles, screaming at them, but it didn’t deter them. They took our trash anyway.

Not Enough Hours in the Day!

It seems like I get out of bed, get to work, make a little supper and the next thing I know it’s time to turn out the lights and go to bed ….

I’d always heard from my parents and my friend’s parents that time passes faster as you get older, but I always thought that it was just a bunch of “who-ie” …. But now, it’s happening to me, and I’m that old!!! OH CRAP … I also just realized that I’m in Denial too 😉

The only NON work thing I seem to be getting done on a regular basis is I’m going for walks with my dog. We try to go every day, but when it’s snowing or the streets are sloppy we have to rethink things a bit, and we have to find things to do at home.

I guess I should be glad I’m busy and that I’m able to make all the payments and keep the bill collectors at bay, but I’d really like to take a day off once in a while.

Does anyone else have these “Time Flies” issues or is it JUST me?

My Dog Works For Santa Claus

YES, My Dog Works For Santa Claus … but I have to admit that I’m not really all that surprised to find this out. There have been a lot of little signs that I just chose to ignore until today.

– She has been very jolly and cheerful
– She has been very well behaved lately
– She has been eating all of her supper without complaints
– She has been learning a few new tricks
– when we go for walks and we see a deer she wants to run over and talk to it
And …
– She has been hiding her toys from me and she doesn’t want to tell me where they are

 

Then, today I came into the house unexpectedly and caught her  ….
